Stembridge Farm Certificated Location Details

Stembridge Farm CL is located on a working livestock farm located near the north Gower coast. The CL comprises a large, fenced, well-kept level lawned area of approximately 1,200 m2 (60 m x 20 m). It is adjacent to the main entrance to the farm, the farmhouse, and the toilet block.

Each of the five pitches has a concrete hard standing with a 240-Volt hookup point, cold water tap, and gravel access driveway. The large lawned area adjacent to the pitches provides space for an awning, table, chairs, BBQ, and car parking.

The CL toilet block has two WC cubicles, two wash hand basins with hot water. It is well lit and is open for 24 hours each day. Outside there are recycling and rubbish binns and a chemical toilet waste disposal point.

Access to the pitches is via a well-maintained gravel roadway and access driveways.  The farm’s road entrance is very wide and gives easy access for even the longest caravan.

Dogs are welcome but they should be kept on a lead.  The field adjacent to the site is kept as a dog walking area for visitors.

Wi-Fi broadband access is provided at no extra charge. The television reception is good and we keep a supply of information leaflets on local places of interest and activities.

Sheepdog heading ducks

At Stembridge Farm, we also breed and train sheepdogs. Colin has worked dogs since he was a boy and has become one of the most eminent sheepdog handlers on the trial circuit. He has represented his country at the International level and is a national and international sheepdog trials judge.
He has been three times Welsh National Brace Champion, and been one of only two competitors ever to have won both the singles and the brace events on BBC T.V.’s “One Man and His Dog.” We supply dogs to handlers in Europe, Scandinavia, and the United States. Colin has given sheepdog demonstrations at events across the country and, during your stay, you may be lucky enough to see the dogs being put through their paces in our training field that is adjacent to the Certificated Location.
One Mans Opinion.

An Approach and Guide to Judging Sheepdog Trials

Colin has written a book on sheepdog training and trials that reflects his knowledge and experience. It is a must-have for the library of any serious sheep dog trialler or anyone with an interest in dog handling. The book is for sale at the Farm or it can be obtained by clicking on one of the following links.

The Gower Beach Guide App was developed by the owners of Hill House, Gower Self Catering Holiday Cottage. It is located in Llanrhidian village and provides self-catering holiday accommodation for families all year round. The inspiration for the App came from the fact that first-time visitors to the peninsula are overwhelmed by the number, variety, and diversity of the bays, beaches, and coves along the peninsula’s relatively short coastline. Over the years the owners have guided Hill Housebvisitors to the beaches that best suited their needs and this local knowledge has been built into the App. Apart from holidaymakers, the Gower Beach Guide App will also be particularly useful to anyone walking the Swansea and Gower section of the Wales Coast Path.
